Sometimes photos speak more than words.
The below photos were taken from our hotel room here in Laughlin, Nevada.
Sobriety is enjoying what is right in front of you.
Our room overlooks a swimming pool. I was casually looking out at the pool.
Suddenly I called out, "Patti there is a male Mallard Duck in the swimming pool! Come and see!"
What fun. Today, right now, this instant, this IS sobriety.
With Patti in our room taking photos, I went down to the swimming pool for a much closer look at the fun!
All we have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride!
So true, Cap. If I spend my life wanting what I don't have, I miss enjoying what I do have. That pool looks so inviting, but I am looking forward to opening my windows today when it gets warmer so I can hear the multitude of birds that sing their many different songs instead of wishing I was in the pool. And at 4 PM today, I will enjoy seeing my dentist, hoping he can fix my broken tooth without too much work, and thankful that I have dental insurance that should cover most if not all. Also, very grateful he had a cancellation TODAY! (I broke my tooth eating popcorn last night. Sadly, I do love the half popped kernels. Or did, right up the point where it broke my tooth.)
ReplyDeleteThank You So Very Much Kathleen for your great comment. Truer words were never spoken .. If I spend my life wanting what I don't have, I miss enjoying what I do have. I was at a loss as to what to Post and suddenly I decided I will keep in simple. Real sobriety is enjoying what is in front of us. A Mallard Duck in a hotel swimming pool was so much fun. It was great you got in to see your dentist so quickly. Amazing. Popcorn got your. I myself had a tooth break off last January so I really relate to you Kathleen. Smiles .. Cap
