I do NOT have a category here on this website titled : Pet Peeves about A.A.
I have thought about it and "ruled it out" simply because it doesn't seem proper to, in any way whatsoever, disrespect our Fellowship.
BUT IF I did have Pet Peeves one would be this term : The Alcoholic Personality.
It really bothers me when I hear people in the Fellowship simply state that they are Alcoholics because they are liars, cheaters, thieves, greedy, selfish, angry, lustful, disrespectful of others etc, etc, etc!
Well guess what?
I recently discovered that no one less than Doctor William Duncan Silkworth, of Towns Hospital in New York City circa 1934, the highly esteemed Doctor who authored "The Doctor's Opinion" on pages xxv to xxxii of the Fourth Edition of our Big Book shares my Pet Peeve with me.
